You all know my husband feeds my furniture addiction. A few weeks ago, he called to tell me he found this solid wood end table/bookcase in someone’s bulky item pickup.
It’s in pretty sad shape.
And after Beth at Stories of A to Z has been posting about getting bed bugs from furniture….. I’m not planning on bringing it in my house any time soon.
But the cool part is what I found on the back:
Aaaaahhhhhh….. I wonder if Richard himself threw the table out??? Or, if his momma was trying to sneak it to the trash like I sneak my kid’s school work to the trash (did I just say that outloud?)?
Either way, I’ve been priming. Let the fun begin.
If Richard Weber reads this… I’d be happy to return your cute table to you when I’m all done!

it’s going to look awesome! Already a huge improvement! I love wood and paint!

How cool would it be if he was reading this?! 🙂
Oh I LOVE it! I can’t wait to see what kind of magic spell you put on this one. What a shame Mr. Weber’s loss is but yeah for your gain!
It’s going to look fabulous!
How neat is that! My father in law signs the back of his pie safes that he makes for us. I need to remember to show this post to The Hubster. He thinks I am awful for “misplacing” the boys school work or for “filing” them outside.
If you’re a Grey’s Anatomy fan, there is a Richard Weber on there, and I thought that was what you meant in your post title. Ha ha ha. Can’t wait to see how it turns out.
lol
oh, nothin’ like a good trash find!!!
Great post title. Can’t wait to see where you go with it.

nothing like a good trash pick! – 🙂 denise
You are so sweet! If he does read it, I’m sure he’ll want it back because the beauty it will become!
I just love the fact that he wrote that on the back!! Wouldn’t it be something if he found what is sure to be the beautiful transformation of something he put such effort into – maybe in shop class? Can’t wait to see the end result!
This post reminded me of the loftbed that my roommate and I had our sophomore year. It was a gorgeous bed with 2 colors of stained wood (cherry and blonde wood) and carpeted stairs on the ladder. We both moved out of the dorm at the end of the year (97) and sold it to another set of girls in the dorm. From time to time I see it in pictures, still bouncing around the dorm system at Texas A&M. It was originally built in 1995 so it’s about 3 years shy of being able to go to college itself. 😉
Tell that man of yours to be on the lookout for something I can store sheets and towels in. I want large with lots of storage and then gonna need a funky paint job. Got that Jason?!?
Maybe he made it in shop class. Maybe he was a T-bird.
But really, in 1988 he was probably wearing acid washed jeans and sporting big hair and singing “Shot Through The Heart…”
It’s getting there; yeah! It’s going to be so happy when you’re done with it, no more of that trashy feeling of being left on the curb. Yeah for your hubby taking pity on it. 🙂 Following you now thru FJSNS Pam @ Sallygoodin
ew, bed bugs coming in on stufF? someones trash, turns into someone elses treasure – it looks so much better already!
My endtable! Great job!!
No way! Did you make this Richard???
