I have a decorator….who has impeccable taste…..
She has a client…..who has an amazing home……

And they ordered antlers …. mounted on wooden mounts…..
And asked me to paint the wood mounts in a distressed gray.
They apparently are wayyyyyyyy further in their decorating walk than I am…..cuz’ I just cant get with all of the antlers. I know everyone is doing it…..
Using antlers in their decorating…..
Antlers on their walls…..
On their jewelry……
And on their person?????
I am just having a hard time with this trend…..
I have nothing against antlers…….. I am not an animal activist……

I just don’t know if I like it. Or if it will go in my home? And yet I do think they are pretty in all of the decorating magazines.
Am I the only one???????????????

My last living room do-over…I put an ornate frame around him and dubbed him…*ART* …lol!
If the fish thing ever takes off…I’m ahead of the game or perhaps a trend setter…EVEN!

I’m going to redo my son’s room in the texas rustic theme. That is the only place they will be in my house. Living room, no thank you. Got to agree it’s a trend.
I love them but I know just like any trend, they too shall pass.
Remember when sunflowers were all the rage? And Americana? And paisleys? And hearts? And fleur de lis? And zebra? And the list goes on and on. Still love them but don’t want to fill the whole house with them.
Not a fan of them either! =)I will be glad when this trend is over.
I think they are awful..hope you didn’t poke yourself in the eye with those spiky antlers when you were painting round them, lol!
I also hate those starburst mirrors, and anything made out of old book pages or sheet music. Just not my thing

Trends are strange, aren’t they? I like the antlers, but don’t care for the sheet music wreaths, love the sunburst mirrors but can remember when they were in style originally (I’m older than dirt…:)) and didn’t care for that style back then.
I always just put up what I like and fashion can follow or not. What bothers me is when I like something, it becomes the rage and I look like a follower when I had it up BEFORE the trend. Or, when fashion makes me sick of the look. I have loved cows all my life and had a few tasteful cows in my life and then they were everywhere!

So FUNNY! Adam was just telling me of a friend of ours who recently painted their antlers white for decorating and he again asked why I won’t let him hang his up in our living room!!!! I’m still not okay with it either! I told him maybe we could make some money off his collection!
LOL! My new home is very rustic compared to my last one. My husband is a hunter in every respect. We have antlers…not in our house but in our garage. I pulled some out the other day..I still can’t find a place for them. I just can’t seem to hang them up in my living room or in my dining room. I think they are going back in the garage.
