When I was 21 years old, I bought my first house and totally transformed it using thrift store and garage sale finds. Over the years I have settled into my personal style that I call “comfortable glam”. We spend a lot of time in our homes, so it should be an inspiring place, a beautiful place, and a place where friends and family want to gather.

I truly believe that we should love our homes, so I’ve created Jennifer Allwood Home to help women decorate their spaces without spending a fortune.

Our Gallery Wall

Ever since we moved into our new house, I really wanted to do a gallery wall. I had a gallery wall in the old house and I looooooved it! Probably because gallery walls are a little bit extra and as you know, EXTRA is totally my JAM! The problem was we brought all the old […]

Chic Farm Table with Glamorous Pink Ottomans

This farm table was for sale at a store called Bella Patina in the West Bottoms in Kansas City many years ago. I saw it on Facebook, where all good things are seen by the way, and was obsessed with it!!  I loved it so much I went down to Bella Patina and stood in […]

DIY Frame Hooks

I haven’t done any home projects in two months because I’ve been finishing writing my book! Friends, let me tell you, that took every ounce of my physical, mental, creative and emotional energy, so thank you for sticking with me through that whole process because it was a wild ride! And prepare for preorders […]

Banquette Table in the Basement!

When we decided to finish off the basement in our new home (read the full post on that HERE), there was this little area where the wall kind of "jutted out" for lack of a better term. Our builder had talked to us about putting a fireplace there, but we really didn't want another fireplace [...]

Our Wooden Shutters

As you may or may not know, when we were getting the house ready for my Equipped Conference, there were LOTS of projects to do on the inside and outside of the house. One of them being the whole exterior of the house, which you can see how we painted HERE. We LOVE the modern […]

Lights Around Pool Area

So, we were getting ready to host the VIP event for my Equipped conference at our home. I’m a firm believer that lights can make the biggest difference in setting the mood and giving some ambiance to the area. Since the VIP night was in the evening, we wanted to make sure there were some […]

Jewelry Organization Ideas!

Because I’m such a visual person, I need to have all of my jewelry on display because if it’s tucked away in a drawer or something, I forget what I have and then I never end up wearing it! So, I wanted to share my display with you in case you need some jewelry organization […]

Simple Landscaping Ideas!

As a busy family of 6, (who am I kidding?!?! even when I DIDN’T have kids)… It was just super important to me that our landscaping be A: Colorful because I love color and B: Super easy to maintain. Let’s face it: I tend to kill EVERYTHING. lol. So, we asked Randy Kitch from Kitch’s […]

Pool Door Arbor

When we moved into the house, the basement had 3 large windows in the place where we decided to put the door going out to the pool. We thought about doing some Florida accordion doors that pull all the way back so it would be this HUGE area of openness. We also talked about doing […]

Black Painted Planters!

When we bought our new home in the winter last year, the pool was closed. These planters were already here. The homeowners showed us these concrete planters and told us that they sat next to the pool and are waterfalls. So basically, you plant flowers in the top of them, then water comes through the […]

The BEST Deviled Eggs!

My grandmother’s deviled eggs were one of my favorite things she ever made. They were SO MUCH my favorite that even though we had a fancy caterer for our wedding, I asked grandma if she would make her deviled eggs. So, she ended up making 200 eggs, which makes 400 deviled eggs and we ate […]

Pink Painted Pots!

As many of you know, we had a business conference for women of faith, called Equipped Conference, in May! We were trying to get the outside of the house all looking perfect because we were going to have around 90 people here! You can see how we painted the exterior of the house HERE and […]

Pink + Gray Bathroom!

So, this is the wallpaper that was in the bathroom when we moved in. Taking down that wallpaper was one of the FIRST things we did when we moved into the new house. The new wallpaper we added is pink and gray and it’s seriously gorgeous. You can find a full blog post on that […]

Turn a Photo into Wallpaper!

There’s a woman in my Inner Circle coaching group named Emily Swindell and she owns Creatives Online Academy. I was aware that she did amazing wallpaper murals where she would turn a photo into wallpaper. And before we got little miss Ari, this had always been one of my favorite photos of my children. It […]

Light Brick Accent Wall Above Stairs

When we moved into the new house, the slate wall was really a focal point. I can remember seeing it 10 years ago when I worked on this house with my Magic Brush Inc. painting company, and I just thought it was incredible. It was covered in slate and had this HUGE mirror, so you […]
