Oddest place ever to buy a “big girl bed”

If you live in Kansas City, there is the oddest store ever in the caves off 291 Highway in Independence called “Overstock Freight”.

It’s where I got the blue dresser that sits in my entryway. The store is totally hit or miss. Sometimes it’s junk….sometimes you get a gem.

My boys took the opportunity to try to scare their sister who already thought driving in a cave was creepy. Me too Ava!

Unfortunately, the store is closing, so they had listed some things on Craigslist. Fortunately….they are having 20% off everything in the store right now. We picked up this cute “big girl bed” for Ava for $80…..what a deal!

I wanted to bring this gem home, but alas…I have no more room for furniture!

I think it was $199 and gor–geous!

Somehow, this motorized scooter jumped into our vehicle too. How do you walk in for a bed and leave with another “deathmobile“?

Funny how that happens, isn’t it?

C’mon Jennifer. Furniture is like jello – always room for more.
The bed is darling, and your kids make me laugh.

Beautiful bed but that getting to that place looks creepy. It was worth it though. Some of the thrift stores that I have been in have been scarey! But I always find the best deals there. lol

If we had caves like this with deals everyone in Dallas would be visiting because I’m sure it’s way cooler in there! Love the deals you found! Are you going to keep the bed white or do something smashing with it? Knowing you, you have a plan!

Oh yeah, these kinds of places get my heart racing. One my faves here is Bill’s Brother’s a freight salvage joint. Sounds crazy but some of my coolest pieces that I paint have come from there. I even found a few that went into our home as they came home from the store. No putting on airs here. 🙂

CRAP – I need that black piece. I have one that I bought from Target 6 years ago and it is starting to slant to the side. I am just finding how difficult it is to buy cabinets with doors these days. Are they still open??

I live in K.C. and NEVER heard of the place… too bad it is closing. By the way, Ava is gorgeous and your boys are too cute.
