There are so many things I love about our master bedroom loft. And who doesn’t love a good loft!? When we bought the beach house in Florida, the master bedroom was a really good sized room that I loved… but if I’m going to be honest…it was just just plain ugly. The one thing it did have, however, was potential.
I love how open this loft is, but there were definitely some upgrades that needed to happen.
I had them build a fake beam..yes, a FAKE beam! I had a beam created out of pressed wood that is stained to match some of the beams that are downstairs int he beach house.
We also cut a new hole in the wall of the bedroom to create a separate entrance for the bathroom and closet. We also switched out floor to match the flooring in the rest of the house. We added shiplap on the ceiling, a new white chic ceiling fan and can lights. We eventually added privacy curtains (more on those later) because there really wasn’t any privacy from noise or sunlight. And let me tell you, they are amazing!
I had this crazy idea to hang a bicycle on the wall. But one more upgrade I’ve done since this is adding the most amazing wallpaper…yes, wallpaper!! Check out what that looks like HERE.
