CONFESSION: I am a faux painter. I have never, ever, ever liked wallpaper but there are so many gorgeous ones out there lately. I have come to the dark side.
I ordered this wallpaper sample months ago from Milton & King. It’s called Kandos in Mulberry and you can see it here.
When I saw it online and I immediately fell in love with it because I love gray and fuchsia. (Read about the gray we’ve been painting in my new house remodel here.)
It looks a little like angel wings, maybe a dove’s wings and maybe a little bit like shrimp … and I’m absolutely obsessed with it! (You know I love angel wings!!!)
What does it look like to you??? Maybe like Koi fish? Japanese art? It’s abstract enough, girlie enough, and the colors I love.
From far away it almost looks like a floral print. We only put the bathroom wallpaper on the far wall as an accent wall. It draw your eye immediately, past the sink, past the toilet. It’s a pop of happiness when you’re walking by in the hallway.
We still need lights and decor…. but it’s coming together!
In the meantime I feel like I owe wallpaper a public apology:
Dear wallpaper everywhere,
For years I have talked about you behind your back and complained of your character flaws.
I have mocked you and sworn we would never be friends.
I have painted right over you in countless homes and cursed you under my breath!
I have shown my love ONLY to paint and faux finishing and for that…. I WAS WRONG.
I’m putting wallpaper up in 3 rooms of my house in hopes of you forgiving me and us getting past our previous relationship issues.
Please forgive me wallpaper.
It was me, not you.
Signed,
I’ve come to the other side.
( anyone else guilty of giving wallpaper a bad rap??? LOL)
I think Stella approves of our new bathroom wallpaper too! We also added wallpaper to my craftroom which you can see here. This one is a super fun floral print.
If you love the idea of a fun pop of color like my bathroom wallpaper, please check out Milton & King. Their designer wallpaper collection is absolutely amazing!!! I bet you could find a pattern or print that will totally make your heart happy too…Put it in your special place– ie the bathroom, craft room, closet and you won’t regret it!
And in full disclosure, I was not paid to promote Milton & King in this blog post.
Stay tuned for more of the Allwood home renovation! We have tons of home projects coming your way!
XOXO,
Jen

Oh my dear I do love that paper. Similar somewhat to your tastes, I love things different, a little abstract, and am now redoing my ex-living room to a girlie dining room with loads of bling. I had no idea what to do with my kitchen to make it girlie but thanks to you I think I have an exquisite idea. Again…I LOVE that pattern, and as a newbie girlie-girl, I like the color. Its all so new to me. 🙂
I’m fascinated with that wallpaper. I hope see more of your projects.
