In Ava’s powder bathroom, Jason and I made this wall hanging that says “Bows before Bros” .
It was cute little picture that we found in Hobby Lobby’s clearance aisle for $2.99. You can watch the live shopping we did here.
It was too wimpy in size for the bathroom. I find that happens a lot! I’ll find signs I like but they just aren’t big enough and I like everything to be a little oversized.
So I had an old framed print down in the basement that I picked up at a thrift store or garage sale at some point. If I find an art print that has a gorgeous frame and it’s cheap, I buy them all the time. You just ever know when you’re going to want to make one into a chalkboard (like these two here and here) or if you’re going to want to use it like I did in Ava’s bathroom to buff up the size of a tiny print.
I did this whole project live on Instagram Stories, so find me there @JenniferAllwood
So literally did ZERO PREP. I spray painted it in the garage
I spray painted the frame and the art print that was in there.
And here is my best spray painting tip: Just rock back and forth.
Then Jason popped off the hanging hardware from the back of the small frame so it would lay flush on the bigger frame.
Then I glued it on to the the thrift store picture. Nice and flush! So now this tiny framed art is true statement piece!
We hung it over the toilet and it’s adorable. You can see more pics of her girlie bathroom and bedroom here.
