So a lot of you probably saw our fireplace redo with the light brick …
The brick on the fireplace was a huge project, which you can see and read about here.
So let’s talk about the OTHER light brick project and updating the heavily faux painted archway …
There used to be a slate wall but we wanted it to be replaced with the same light colored bright as the fireplace. We were really happy with the added texture and masculine look of brick on the fireplace. So it made sense to go here too.
Once we took out the faux columns, the space opened up!! So much better!!!! We also put in new hardwood floors, which you can read details on here, and made some BIG updates in the kitchen, too many to list but you can see them all here.
Then, our brick projects stalled. Unfortunately, the rest of the brick that we needed to complete this brick project in our home was on back order. So we patiently waited for several months and lived with just bare sheet rock on this archway. I know, it’s a first world problem, but I was so anxious to get this project completed.
Dave and his team did an absolute, AMAZING job. I love how they turned the brick on the curved arch part.
And I love how he made this light brick archway match the brick on the fireplace in the formal living room.
We just had a window installed in the middle of the light brick archway that looks over the pool.(Shhhhhh!) When the window is open, we can actually listen to the kids in the pool because #teenagers. You probably already saw the window on Instagram, if you’re not following my stories, find me @JenniferAllwood!!!
But the project is FINALLY done and I couldn’t be more thrilled! I love that the brick has shades of browns and creams, whites and grays. And will be very versatile for years to come!
You probably have a zillion questions about all the other home updates, which you can see in detail here. I also have a ton of these home decor items in my Amazon shop, which you should peruse right HERE.
