(Fireplace tile BEFORE)
A few weeks ago, we had a client who asked us to paint her fireplace tile that is shown above. The tile is pretty standard for Kansas City. I thought it was gorgeous. But, it was just too dark for her….she wanted more creams and whites and beiges and less brown in the tile.

And so, we PAINTED THE TILE!
I don’t even think you can tell on the closeup photo that its painted tile and not the original color.
I wish I had photos of the process, but I forgot to take them….so here it goes.
We painted the tile and the grout with Faux Effect’s Prime Etch.
We primed over that.
We basecoated with Aquabond in Off White.
We used 2 colors of Aquacreme: Dark Brown and Vandkye Brown, and tints to “mush” and mottle color on to look like tile.
And we had a HAPPY client!
I have another fireplace transformation you’ll want to see HERE — painted BLACK brick!
