Decorating pumpkins with tulle are one of the EASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSIEST ways ever to dress up a pumpkin.
First, you just need a Cinderella pumpkin. I used to call them “humpy pumpkins” until I learned they have a formal name. “Cinderella pumpkin” sounds so much classier than humpy. Lol.
Make sure you get a pumpkin with a stem…. the stem will hold the tulle on!
You need some rolls of tulle. Get the ones like this from Hobby Lobby. So easy to work with. Yes, you could buy a yard of tulle and cut strips of it yourself, but who has time for that nonsense? lol
Cut 3 long strips of the tulle and lay them crisscrossing over each other like this on a table.
Set your Cinderella tulle pumpkin in the middle.
And stretch each piece of tulle up to the stem. You can cut a little slit in the tulle a few inches from the end of you piece and push the pumpkin stem up thru that slit. That will hold the tulle onto the pumpkin.
I have also done this with tying the tulle around the stem.
Whatever works for your tulle pumpkin.
I have a basket of old costume jewelry and broaches and treasures in my studio that I keep on hand for projects just as this. I dug this thing out of the treasure box. It had bendable prongs on the back.
So I pronged it to the tulle.
See how easy that is? Done! My Tulle Pumpkin is GORGEOUS!
