We had the pleasure of updating this tween girl’s bedroom. The stenciled ceiling she had for years was still beautiful and very sweet. It pained us to paint right over all that hard work. But, she had outgrown it and was ready for something different…

So we took her vaulted ceiling to a new level with a zebra pattern!
To paint the pattern, we used zebra print pics from online and zebra-print tissue paper as examples and tried to duplicate the stripes on the ceiling. Then we painted fun word phrases around the soffit – Get my stencil tricks for doing that HERE.
The hard thing about painting ceilings is only one person can fit on the scaffold to paint at a time. I had one of my Magic Brush girls paint this pattern and it turned out GORGEOUS!
We used wall stencils to achieve perfect polka dots in several different sizes, like these HERE. I also like to use 3M Adhesive Spray with stencils so they stay in place. It just makes painting SO MUCH EASIER.
